This 'N' Gauge - 2mm 1:148 scale layout belongs to Bruce Souster. It is no longer available for display on the local exhibition circuit.
Castleford is a fictitious location on the Great Western mainline, around the Devon-Somerset border. There has been some degree of modellers' licence incorporated into the layout, such as a four track mainline, mainly to increase the variety of stock and operational interest of the layout. The two station platforms are built on the slow lines. The fast lines have no platforms, occasionally the odd freight gets routed down the fast lines. The layout itself is set in the late 1990s early 2000s so you can expect to see a variety of different train operating companies. Castleford Station itself is a small station and is located about a mile from the village. To the east of the station is a small stabling point, mainly used by EWS and Freightliner, although other freight operators occasionally use the facilities.
